The Webster City High School trade students and their instructor, Joel Kennedy, visited to the Elks Lodge Building Monday morning to go through materials uncovered over the weekend. The group was able to take some of the items back to school to assist with current projects. Officials with LIFT WC said they wanted to give back and help the students by donating some materials to the building and trades program. It was also an opportunity to show the students the inside of the historic building. LIFT WC is a local nonprofit that is currently working on restoring the former Elks Lodge building with the goal to get it back into commercial use, to create an attractive space for business to enhance the social and cultural life of the community and to catalyze and fund future projects to enhance Webster City’s downtown and the community.
