The primary purpose of LIFT WC is to grow and support
the social and economical prosperity of Webster City in a way that
honors and preserves its history while creating opportunities for educational, recreational, social and cultural experiences for the future.
Local Initiative For Transformation WC (LIFT WC) is a nonprofit organization that is the result of a group of volunteers coming together to grow and support the social and economical prosperity of Webster City. Our goal is to identify and develop catalytic projects, services and programs that build the social infrastructure of Webster City.
Our project is revitalizing the Elks Building located at 713 Second Street in downtown Webster City. The three goals for this first project are:
• Restore the historical building and to get it back into commercial use;
• Create an attractive space for business to enhance the social and culture life of the community; and
• Catalyze and fund future building transformations.
After completing the building rehabilitation, LIFT WC plans to retain ownership of the property and manage the top ballroom as an event space, while leasing out the rest of the building to select commercial businesses that align with our social mission.
